Cala Millor

Municipalilty of Cala Millor

The beach has a length of over 2 Km and an average width of 50 m. It offers a fine and clean sand with just a drop of 4%.

Its beauty, its always blue and transparent waters, the modern infrastructure and the proper maintenance work carried out by the two municipalities that comprise it, has made possible for the beach to bee awarded with the Blue Flag from the European Community for the past seven years.

The beach of Cala Millor is situated on the eastern part of Mallorca and belongs to the municipalities of Sant Llorenç and Son Servera. It is about 60 Km far from Palma city and 20 Km from Manacor.

This is one of the main tourist areas of Mallorca. Its tourism expansion began in the late fifties and early sixties, it has not stopped over the years and today is one of the most popular and preferred destination by the European visitors, being the German tourists who take the lead.

In addition to sun and beach, Cala Millor offers many opportunities for leisure and entertainment. Its flat 6 km extension let you enjoy biking or horse riding. You can practice all kinds of sports: tennis schools, golf courses, sports centers with squash, paddle, bowling, windsurfing, sailing, diving, fishing and so on. You can also visit the only Auto Safari that exist on Mallorca, with his numerous African species.

It deserves a special mention the possibility to do excursions to the nearby urbanisations: the Costa dels Pins, with its natural beaches and the Golf Course; Cala Bona, a fishing village with a beautiful marina and a fishing harbor. Port Vell and Port Nou, residential areas, with coves and natural beaches in a quiet environment; Sa Coma, with a huge and recent urbanization spreading through its long and beautiful beach. S'Illot, full of Talayotic remains; the Punta de n'Amer a land declared a Natural Area of Special Interest, with its watchtower dating from the seventeenth century dominates the bay of Cala Millor. Finally, the villages of Son Servera and Sant Llorenç, full of traditional taste.

The strong economic expansion in which has been immersed Cala Millor in the last 30 years, is driven mainly by the large number of tourists who choose to spend their holidays there year after year. Over the time it has created a whole infrastructure situating Cala Millor at the head of the favorite tourist destinations in Europe.
