Accessibility policy

With the intention of improving quality of life for residents and visitors, Son Servera Town Council continues to be committed to non-discrimination and equal opportunities. One of its priority objectives is to achieve an accessible environment for all, avoiding wherever possible limitations and barriers that could impede free access to all the municipality's services and areas.

For this reason, Son Servera Town Council has initiated the Universal Accessibility Policy project in accordance with the following principles of continuous action:

  • To fulfil the legislation in force and any other voluntary commitment subscribed to, especially the UNE 170001 Standard on universal accessibility and the DALCO criteria (Ambulation, Apprehension, Location, Communication).
  • To provide accessible spaces for all citizens, in a way that allows people to access municipal services and facilities, enabling contact with others and favoring freedom of choice, always under equal conditions.
  • To make these accessible spaces more and more significant and important, involving also the private offer of the municipality.
  • Continuously improve the effectiveness of the Universal Accessibility Management System or any other subscribed to, by implementing and maintaining those processes and measures necessary to obtain a continuous improvement of the universal environmental procedures and facilities offered.
  • To establish universal accessibility targets on a regular basis and resolutely, efficiently and regularly monitor all aspects associated with these related processes and services.
  • Motivate, raise awareness, educate and train the staff involved and serve as a model for our users and for our society in general.
  • Maintain channels and communication pathways to inform, listen and dialogue with stakeholders, and particularly to improve our universal accessibility and to identify the level of satisfaction and needs of all users.

In this way, the Town Council commits to providing the necessary resources for the development and implementation of its policy, additionally committing to review this policy and listen to the new demands and suggestions of our users wherever necessary, while remaining permanently focused on continuous improvement.
